Americans consume about 16 lbs of fresh apples and 33 lbs of processed apples a year. With flavors ranging from sweet to tart, apples are a popular and wholesome snack or ingredient for consumers. Apples:

  • Offer 2x the total polyphenol content and 2.3x the in vitro antioxidant capacity of red table grapes
  • Provide a good source of dietary fiber (4 grams in a medium apple) and Vitamin C – providing 14% of the recommended daily intake
